Elmleigh are an electrical company based in Hinckley, Leicester. They contacted us to supply office furniture when they decided to move sites. The new site was refurbished to a high standard before we were part of the job.

The Situation & Our Solution

When we visited Elmleigh to do a site visit, we were met with new carpets and freshly painted, beautifully panelled walls. The director at Elmleigh wanted to carry the wood effect from the walls through to the desking so we showed them various desk options and it was decided that they would proceed with Dams oak wood desks. Each desk is 1800mm wide to give employees plenty of room to spread paperwork out. Fixed pedestals are fitted to each singular desk off the floor to make it as clean as possible, thus giving employees room to store samples, paperwork and stationary. We selected black leg frames to give a contemporary feel to the office space. Desks were placed back-to-back with small desk mounted screens. Adding a fabric desk screen can not only pull a room scheme together but it can also help with sound absorption, particularly important in open plan offices. You can see from the pictures below that the room now looks inviting and spacious for all members of staff to work from.

Elmleigh also incorporated 3 sit stand desks into their office space, sit stand desks are becoming more and more popular due to the ergonomic benefits of changing our position whilst working. It has been proven that sit-stand desks increase productivity and improve posture. We spoke to one of the employees that worked at a sit stand desk and he said that he mainly worked standing. The sit stand desk situated in the individual office was also in a standing position.

Elmleigh’s branding is red, so our customer felt strongly about adding red into the colour scheme. It was decided that red operator chairs would be added. Chairs were selected from Air seating and included seat slides, inflatable lumbar supports and polished bases ensuring all employees could gain a comfortable, ergonomically correct posture whilst working, chairs were provided for 32 employees in total.

Office Breakout Area Design

The red theme followed through to the kitchen areas with the use of both chairs and stools in a mixture of black, grey and red. Stools were paired with a high table from Dams to give a more relaxed dining area. A sofa may soon be added to the upstairs kitchen area to create a softer corner within the breakout area. Glass partitions are a great way to separate spaces but continue to let natural light into all area’s of the building. Glass has been incorporated to separate both the kitchen area upstairs and the meeting room at the top of the stairs.

Meeting Room Furniture

New furniture was supplied for the meeting rooms, including stunning oak topped trumpet base meeting tables from Dams complemented by black leather meeting chairs from Dynamic.

Boardroom Furniture

The boardroom was one of the latest rooms to be completed by Leicester Office Furnishers. The large boardroom table was from Elite and compliments the panelling extremely well, it is a large barrel shape finished in oak with black accents, it really is a statement piece creating the perfect setting for those important meetings. Elmleigh specialise in Electrics and will be supplying their own interactive whiteboard for this room.

Reception Area Design & Reception Desk

The reception area was transformed with a gorgeous Narbutas reception desk. The size of desk selected could be home to 1 or 2 receptionists and featured electric height adjustable desks behind the main reception surround. As you can see from the pictures it fits the left hand side of the reception area perfectly with room to get behind the desk either side. Branding is always a must for a reception area, Elmleigh have added branding to both the wall behind the reception desk, but also added a TV screen onto the panelled wall which shows various facts about their brand. This is a great way to show visitors exactly what it is you can provide as a business.

Corporate Branding

Branding is always really key in an office space, Elmleigh have added branding to various walls throughout the offices on both dark grey and red walls. This ensures that all spaces link with branding colours.

Additional soft seating will shortly be added to the reception area as this project is still ongoing.
