And that’s a wrap!

An End to a Busy Year

And that’s a wrap 2023! What a year it has been here for us at Leicester Office Furnishers we have worked with some brand new clients with projects that have been in the pipeline for months, we have worked with clients which we have worked with for years now on their new projects and been re-introduced to clients who now have new contacts for us to work with – all in all it has been a busy year and we have loved creating fantastic workspaces for all of them!

Projects this year have quite often included clients who have wanted to make their workspaces a more pleasant place to be, in order to attract employees back from working at home. This has meant creating a more home-from-home feel with an increase in the use of soft furnishings, should this simply be soft seating areas combining sofas and low and high back armchairs or hot desking style soft seating so, high back individual chairs quite often with bag storage, power and integrated tables included enabling users to sit with their laptop quite comfortably without the need for a more traditional desk set-up.

The home from home set-up has also included larger breakout tables with a mix of seating options around it so that employees can select from a more typical operator style chair fitted with wheels and a height adjustment function, through to shared benches to sit at along with 4-leg style chairs with and without arms, this gives great flexibility to these spaces allowing users to work, dine or collaborate.

Key Products

As mentioned above we have definitely noticed a shift in the way people work, people are increasingly less precious about having a set desk to work at everyday and new ways of working are being embraced. The furniture products are out there to suit a variety of working styles now and we are loving specifying them and seeing them in use. Key products include but are not exclusive to:

  • Collaboration tables with A-Frame gantries above, not only do these create a real wow factor within the office but they are also practical in that power can be fed through them, whiteboards and monitors can be mounted on them, simple ideas such as bag hooks can be included along with finishing aesthetic touches of statement lighting and plants
  • Seemingly still not decreasing in popularity are meeting booths, ideal for drop down meetings where privacy is required but not necessarily absolute privacy, they can be placed anywhere and can be moved in the future if needed, available in a variety of sizes with a variety of accessories available this office furniture piece seems to be here to stay for a while yet
  • Soft seating in abundance, should this be modular seating to help divide a space, a group of armchairs to soften a larger open office, padded stools to pull out for ad-hoc meetings on the end of a desk it seems offices cannot get enough of it! Not only is soft seating practical to use it can soften an often hard, angular environment  and add an element of fun and colour. Soft seating is also useful for sound absorption
  • The majority of office re-fits we have carried out now include an element of hot desking either in the form of desks to match the rest of the office or in the form of specially made booths, both options work well and allow employees to work flexibly.
